Hydraulic Conductivity: Permeameter

This is a design from the MIT course, thought it was interesting that they don't have a constant water source.

Currently I am working on the Introduction/Background for the lab report/presentation.
The powerpoint is also underway.

  1. Sounds great. It looked like you had some good sources. Feel free to send anytime you want comments or have questions. They don't have to be "perfect" before I look at them.

I assume the pump has arrived at SAU, I haven't heard from Barry about the status of the stoppers. You have filters of some sort, we can use, and we may need a quick menard's run for tubing, but we're "close" to getting it going... Hoping that can happen this week.

  2. Random Idea, that might fail:

It occurred to me that if it really works well with natural sediments, you could try taking a sample somewhere, calculating K, and then stirring it up into a well mixed solution and calculating K again as a more "natural" experiment... Not sure if it would work well, but it sounded interesting.
